The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) today proposed to rescind rules that mandate companies to include certain climate-related information in their registration statements and annual reports.
The proposal, announced in a press release, describes the existing requirements as overly burdensome and costly for companies.
The SEC's action opens a public comment period, after which the Commission will decide whether to finalize the rescission.
