On 6 March 2025, WHO Director-General Dr Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus and EIB Global Vice-President Thomas Östros signed a €10 million grant agreement at the EIB Group Forum in Luxembourg.
The grant aims to strengthen public health across Lebanon, focusing on re-establishing the country's Central Public Health Laboratory.
It will also prioritize medication provision and healthcare support for over 50,000 people with chronic diseases such as diabetes, cardiovascular conditions, and cancer.
