At its July 2026 meeting, the Governing Council of the European Central Bank (ECB) took several decisions in addition to setting interest rates. The decisions cover areas such as monetary policy implementation, financial stability, and operational frameworks.

The Council also reviewed the progress of the digital euro project, reaffirming its commitment to a phased approach. A report on the project's next steps will be presented to the European Parliament in the coming months.
In the area of banking supervision, the Council endorsed new guidelines for stress testing, focusing on climate-related risks. These guidelines will be applied in the next supervisory cycle, starting in 2027.
