The European Central Bank (ECB) released the results of its Consumer Expectations Survey for June 2026 on Friday, indicating a marginal uptick in short-term inflation expectations among euro area consumers.

According to the survey, the median expectation for inflation over the next 12 months rose to 2.8% in June, up from 2.6% in May. For the three-year horizon, expectations remained unchanged at 2.4%.

The ECB noted that consumers' perceptions of past inflation also increased slightly, while expectations for income growth and spending remained broadly stable.

The survey, which is based on responses from a representative sample of consumers across the euro area, is used by the ECB to gauge household inflation expectations and economic sentiment.
