Ms Pamungkas's employer, Rashed Sikder of Bellavita Cafe in Potts Point, described her as a 'top' worker. 'She is like my sister, honestly. Everything in my shop, it's her touch,' he said.
Dick's Hotel Balmain confirmed her passing on Tuesday, saying: 'We are heartbroken to share that Nurhayati has sadly passed away. Agung, our head chef, and their two children were by her side, but her injuries were just too severe.'
A GoFundMe set up by Dick's Hotel owner Elia Economou has raised more than $60,000 for Mr Purwanto and his family. The fundraiser said the support would help ease financial pressure and give the family space to adjust to life without their wife and mother.
