Big League Productions (BLP) is accepting submissions for a non-union Assistant Carpenter/Flyman for the upcoming 2026-2027 national touring production of Mystic Pizza.
The full-time touring position will report to the Head Carpenter and Production Stage Manager. Duties include assisting with venue advance work, managing load-ins and load-outs, ensuring safe performances, and assisting with local crew supervision. The role also involves operating all necessary fly elements safely and accurately.
Qualified candidates should be strong team players who work well under pressure, with attention to detail and strong communication skills. Previous touring experience is preferred but not required. A valid US driver's license is mandatory. Physical requirements include lifting up to 50 lbs., pushing/pulling 100 lbs., standing for extended periods (3+ hours), and navigating multiple flights of stairs.
The tour will feature a mix of one-week engagements, split-weeks, and one-night performances, with some layoff weeks. The contract begins September 16, 2026, in Elmira, NY, with tech/previews from September 16-26, 2026. The national tour runs from September 26, 2026, through April 4, 2027, with additional bookings possible.
