Connor was the beloved son of Brian and Megan Campbell and the late Kayleigh Magee. He was a much-loved brother of Michael, Daniel, and Paudi, and a cherished grandson of Mickey and Teresa Campbell, Aileen O’Neill, and the late Christopher Magee. He was also a great-grandson of Kathleen Campbell and Mickey O’Neill.
Funeral and Tributes
Mourners gathered at St Patrick’s Church, Clonoe, on Tuesday for Connor’s Requiem Mass. His family led the congregation in remembering a teenager whose 'kindness, humour and resilience left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.'
In a heartfelt reflection at the end of the Mass, Connor’s father Brian addressed mourners, saying: 'Though we need to weep your loss, you now dwell in that safe place in our hearts where no storm or night or pain can reach you.' He added: 'May you continue to inspire us to enter each day with a generous heart, to serve the call of courage and love until we see your beautiful face again.'
The parish priest of Clonoe, the Very Rev Canon Benedict Fee, said Connor had brought joy and delight to his loved ones. He described Connor as someone who 'seized every hour that God gave him' and was 'very respectful, never rude.' The priest also addressed Connor’s young friends, urging them to keep his memory alive.
Community and School Response
Connor had recently completed his studies at St Joseph’s College in Coalisland and had been looking forward to receiving his GCSE results. The school paid tribute, saying he was 'a much-loved member of our school community, and his loss is deeply felt by students, staff and all who knew him.'
