Spain forward Ferran Torres said he has watched highlights of his World Cup-winning goal 'a thousand times' because he has no memory of scoring it. He appeared on NBC's 'TODAY' show Monday, during a four-day visit to the U.S. while on break from Barcelona.
Torres scored in extra time to give Spain a 1-0 victory over Lionel Messi's Argentina in the 2026 World Cup final. 'Honestly? A thousand times,' Torres said. 'Because when I finished the game, I don't remember the goal. I just have the feeling that I got crazy...I don't remember how I scored.'
He described the moment as 'unbelievable' and said the best part was seeing his teammates celebrate. 'I talked with my friends, and for me, it was a more exciting moment when I saw my teammates coming running, for two minutes, than even when I scored a goal,' he told NBC News.
Torres also addressed transfer rumors linking him to Paris Saint-Germain. 'I have a contract at Barcelona, but in football you never know. I'm just waiting to make the right decision,' he said. Asked about a dream club, he replied: 'Just be happy.'
