Aquatech, a US-based water technology company, has acquired Metito Chemical Solutions (Metichem), a UAE-headquartered firm specializing in water treatment chemicals. The deal aims to broaden Aquatech's portfolio of specialty chemicals and operational services across the Middle East, North Africa, and Southeast Asia.
The acquisition combines Aquatech's global project experience with Metichem's regional expertise. Both companies have a long history of successful projects in the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and Indonesia.
The announcement coincides with Aquatech's 45th anniversary. Last week, over 300 employees from three continents celebrated the integration of Metichem into Aquatech.
Metichem will now operate as 'Metichem, an Aquatech company,' offering combined expertise in specialty chemicals and operations and maintenance to help clients meet environmental and operational goals.
Mike Abla, Managing Director at Metichem, said the acquisition marks a new chapter, while Aquatech's CEO Devesh Sharma highlighted the shared values and complementary strengths of the two organizations.
