A peculiar plant in Namibia, which looks like a rock, has adapted to survive in extreme conditions. It grows on just two centimeters of gravel, according to a report from indiatimes.com.
The plant's survival strategy includes 'playing dead' when the rain stops, a behavior that helps it endure harsh dry periods. This adaptation also makes it less noticeable to curious animals.
The species is critically endangered, with fewer than 200 individuals remaining in the wild. Conservation efforts are crucial to prevent its extinction.
