NWS confirms tornado touched down in Miami Valley Saturday

The National Weather Service confirmed a weak tornado between New Lebanon and Dayton, causing damage but no injuries. Two other tornadoes are under investigation.

The National Weather Service has confirmed that a weak tornado touched down between New Lebanon and Dayton on Saturday evening, according to a report from wvxu.org.

The tornado developed near Germantown Liberty Road, south of Forney Road and just west of Liberty. It was about 150 yards wide and traveled north along Snyder Road for about three miles, ending just north of U.S. 35.

Damage was reported at a business, a barn, and several doors of a storage facility. The tornado also caused extensive tree damage along its path, including in a corn field and uprooting or breaking several large trees near their bases.

No injuries were reported from the storm. The National Weather Service is investigating two other tornadoes near Eaton in Preble County and in northwestern Warren County, with results expected Wednesday.
