An Air New Zealand flight was forced to abort its landing in Christchurch on Tuesday as a polar blast brought wild weather to the region.
Video captured by NZ1 Aviation and posted on YouTube shows Flight 5349 from Wellington, an ATR-72 aircraft, rocking from side to side as it approached the runway in strong wind and rain.
The plane made its first landing attempt shortly after midday, but circled back and landed successfully on a second attempt 15 minutes later.
The same aircraft then continued on its scheduled flight to Queenstown.
